WRITING PARAGRAPH
Celebration of 16th December/21st February
The 16th December/21st February is a red-letter day in the history of our country. On this day the whole country pays homage to the sacred memory of the valiant martyrs who laid down their lives for our independence/mother tongue. Last year we, the students of our college chalked out some programmes to celebrate the day. In the morning, we went to the national memorial/Shaheed Minar and offered flowers as a symbol of respect to the national heroes of our country. We saw that people of all ages and creeds gathered there to show respect. In the evening, we arranged a seminar and a cultural programme in our school. We invited a prominent writer of the
country as chief guest. He is also a freedom fighter. The principal of our college presided over the function. The speakers delivered their speech highlighting the importance of the day. At last, the principal presented vote of thanks. Then the cultural programme started. The students sang patriotic songs and recited some poems. Last of all, we staged the drama, ‘Kabar’ written by Munir Chowdhury. The students, teachers and the guardians enjoyed the cultural programme. The charming memory of the day will stay behind ever bright in my heart. On this day we take vow that we will work for the progress of our country.
