8. a. When we open a book and start reading, our mind begins to create imaginative pictures immediately. Then, we find ourselves in the wonderful worlds of the books. There we meet interesting characters and learn new things.
b. Books contribute to the formation of new ideas and the introduction to new people by unlocking the door to different ideas and presenting new people we have never thought of or met before. By reading books, we can learn about things we didn’t know and meet people from places we have never been.
c. While reading books, it feels as though the room is melting away, because when we read a book, we dive into the world of the book and forget everything around us.
d. The book lovers feel happy when their minds travel far away. They experience a dreamlike feeling.
e. When we read, the mind travels to the place and the time of the story of a book while reading that book.
f. While reading a book, a character from the book can be our friend. We begin to like the certain qualities of the character so much that we maker this character our special friend.
g. A magic box takes us by surprise by bringing out exciting things. Similarly, a book can take us to the wondrous world of surprises and exciting events. That’s why the poet calls a book ‘a magic box’.
h. By ‘we sail along the page’, the poet means to say that when we read a book, we get transported to the time and place of the story as smoothly as sailing on water.
